I am a curious, creative, software developer and lifelong learner with a background in education. My career as a teacher has taught me a lot about leadership, people, patience, and collaboration, but tech has always had my eyes and heart. I have built projects using Git and front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript, AJAX, React, React-Native, and Redux as well as projects using back-end technologies such as Node.js, Knex.js, and PostgreSQL. I am now searching for a position in web development.

Projects

HabbitRabbit Demo

Habbit Rabbit

I collaborated on a React-Native app that tracks positive user habits using React-bootstrap and Redux on the front-end and Express.js, Knex.js, and PostgreSQL on the back-end.

Front-end and Back-end repositories are listed below respectively.

Hungry Eyes

Hungry Eyes allows you to search for restaurants in your area by user uploaded photos on Yelp so that you can find what looks delicious to you. I collaborated in a small group to use APIs such as Google, Yelp, and Firebase, as well as HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap to demonstrate proficiency in front-end development technologies and UX/UI design

I contributed to the creation of a clone of Tumblr using back-end technologies such as Express.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Knex.js, and Passport.js

Interests

For the past several years I have spent my free time in 3D printing, CAD design, flying drones, and exposing young people to newer technologies through my Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) club. I also follow several science fiction, fantasy and dramatic films and television shows. Among other things, I love to travel to interesting places, meet interesting people, and bike around the city.
